Building profitable, sustainable business models for the AgriFood sector

The Institute of Food and Agribusiness Leadership and Business School Netherlands are offering this comprehensive 10-month executive agribusiness programme for professionals and leaders in agriculture and food security.

The programme focuses on building profitable, sustainable business models for the AgriFood sector, including:

  • Designing a disruptive value proposition
  • Developing chain partnerships that work
  • Incorporating sustainability into products and business models
  • Creating distribution strategies for the digital age

This programme effectively combines Learning, Coaching and Community in its delivery and outcomes. This is combined with an online learning curriculum and live interactive sessions every week.

Programme

How does it work?

Part 1: Orientation – 1 Week

Students are introduced to the facilitators and other students via an introductory online group session. You will receive all the information regarding the format and structure of the programme.

Part 2: Core Programme – 24 to 30 Weeks

Students will work through 5 core modules of the programme:

  • Disruptive Food Value Chains
  • AgriFood Tech’s Value to the Food Value Chain
  • Novel Food and Changing Consumer Preferences
  • Food Sustainability and Sustainable Development
  • Food Distribution and Retail Developments

Each module will have an outcomes-based assessment.

Live drop-in coaching sessions will take place weekly.

Students will receive weekly updates and insights on industry from Dr Food.

Part 3: Finishing up the Programme – 4 to 8 Weeks

Students will attend final live sessions and deliver a Case Presentation.

Students will decide upon a practical project during their first month of the programme. This project could be related to their professional capacity or entrepreneurial ambitions. Students will make use of the tools, techniques and conceptual frameworks covered during the learning outcomes.

The recommended study time per week is 4 – 6 hours

Students will have access to the Agribusiness learning companion app which gives direct access to facilitators, the peer groups, as well as bonus learning content.

In order to be awarded their certification upon the completion of the programme, students must:

  • Submit a final report addressing different module elements related to their practical project for expert review
  • Each learner will submit his/her Personal Effectiveness Paper (PeP) meeting the Business School Netherlands guidelines
Who it's for

Admission requirements

Each applicant must meet the following admission requirements for this programme:

  • Hold a Bachelors Degree (or equivalent)
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in the Agribusiness or Food Security Sectors
  • Have reliable internet access and email
