Marcel van der Ham, Dean of Business School Netherlands, participated in the ACBSP Region 8 Conference in Paris from 15 to 17 November. The American ACBSP is the largest accreditation council in the world with more than 1,000 affiliated universities and business schools.
The MBAs from our Business School (and we trust the DBAs soon as well) are accredited by ACBSP. Webster University, ISM (Paris), the Lagos Business School and Maastricht School of Management are examples of other Business Schools with the same ACBSP accreditation.
In addition to accrediting, ACBSP organises and stimulates knowledge sharing between its members, for which they organise conferences twice a year. This year’s topic is focussed on “The Art of Developing Entrepreneurial Leaders”. Two DBA / Ph.D. students shared their first research results on this subject in Paris. Furthermore, there were lectures on (social) Entrepreneurial Leadership, Emotional Personal and Team Intelligence, the ART of stARTups and the use of simulation games to develop entrepreneurial leaders. Participants from different Business Schools travelled from countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, France, America, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. A very interesting mix for networking and discussing the differences and similarities of the offered education.
