Bernie van Zijl has a broad range of experience in the management and training community in SA. He studied BA (Anthropology and Africa Studies) at Stellenbosch and did his post graduation studies at UNISA (University of South Africa). He completed a MBL (Masters in Business Leadership) at UNISA, specializing in “Branding, a key to marketing leisurewear to teenagers”, a large-scale research project with kids and teenagers in SA.
Bernie is the founder of 360⁰ Marketing and Advertising (Pty) Ltd, a consultancy that assisted a variety of organizations in the fields of specialist training pertaining to leadership and marketing. He is a sought after speaker with numerous radio/television talks to his credit. He facilitates business subjects for MBA and other postgraduate management programmes, specializing in Marketing, e-Commerce, Leadership and Management of Technology for the International Institute of Business Relations, the University of Steinbeis in Berlin, Germany and Business School Netherlands. He facilitated the subjects Social Marketing and Investigating Entrepreneurial Opportunities for the Open University Business School, London.
His experience in the field of executive education started at the Graduate School for Business Leadership, Unisa where after he was asked to represent the University of Stellenbosch Business School Executive Development in Gauteng Province in SA.
Currently he is the CEO of Riskflow Institute – a company focusing on Risk Management for Financial Institutions “Managing tomorrow’s risks today!” In 2012 he was a finalist of IRMSA’s Risk Manager of the year.
In 2012 Bernie was nominated to write the course for International and African Marketing for the Institute of Marketing Managers in South Africa!
Lately his focus is on Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Development and SME’s. He developed a methodology for SMEs working towards sustainability.
