Earlier this week, the first group of International DBA students gathered from all over the world in Buren, to attend the first block of workshops of phase 1 of the doctorate programme. On the first day the group was introduced to Action Learning and the coherency between cultures. The following three days were filled by workshops by some of The Netherlands finest, Prof.René ten Bos spoke about People in Organisations ( organisational cultures and HR systems), Prof Hans Heerkens spoke on Exploration on Problems and Priorities, and Prof. Roland Bushoff spoke about Canvas - Theory and application to partcipants companies on Friday. By the end of this five day block of workshops, the International DBA programme students were asked, as a research excercise, to develop their own organisational 'x-ray' using the tools they were handed this week. A Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is a management practioner's degree. The study is focused on developing a scientific attitude, not just completing a research project.
